The BevBright 30" Sterile-Grade has a Polyethersulfone (PES) membrane. Sterile PES membranes have individual .45 holes that do not allow particulates larger than .45 micron to pass.  PES Cartridges provide the ultimate biological barrier and should be used as the final sterile filtration as your beverage is in route to your final packaging. 

A Polyethersulfone layer looks like white film with .45 holes that you cannot see. This film is then supported with a 100+ micron layer of PE on both sides to stability. This outer layer is what you see when you look at a filter. Our PES filters will not hold very much particulate, often called dirt in the filtering world, and will clog very quickly unless your wine is exceptionally clean.

For white wine, a very common usage, it is best to fine and/or filter the wine beforehand as applicable. On bottling day filter first with a pleated BevBright 1 micron filter and then this .45 Sterile PES Filter en route to the bottle.
