Are descendants of Kings, Dukes, Counts, Lords, Knights of Brittany, Normandy, France. Their descendants came to England with the Duke William the Conqueror in 1066 and fought at the Battle of Hastings. They were granted Lands, Castles, and Large Mansions in and about the counties of Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, Tyrington, and Northhampsonshire, England. A descendant "Edward Spaulding" and his brother Edmund Spaulding arrive on April 19, 1619 in Jamestown, Virginia, USA. Edward would remain in Jamestown for several years while his brother Edmund continued on to Elizabeth City setting up routes of his family. These two Spauldings became the main "Progenitors" of two different lines of the family Spaulding. In 1630 Edward Spaulding arrives in Braintree, Massachusetts in 1630. His descendants moved Massachuetts to Connecticut then to New Hampshire, then to Vermont, and this book follows this line of family Spaulding from Vermont USA back through the generations to the Great King of Brittany, Sir Nominoe (Nevenoe) de Bretagne. During the Great Survey of the Domesday Bokk, Spaulding name was known as "Spalding" and in the Lincolnshire survey 1115 the name was "Spaldingis."
